Clough & Willis Annual Quiz 2017

Last night saw months of preparation come to fruition in what was our 20th Annual Clough & Willis Quiz event which was held at the Elton Vale Sports Club.

We had a fantastic turnout on the night with 29 teams all vying to be the next Clough & Willis Quiz champions and win the coveted Quiz Cup.  After the first round of questions (which were admittedly very hard and chosen by none other than Partner and Head of Family Law himself, Mr Lee Marston) there was an early leader in PM+M Team 2.

PM+M Team 2 maintained a high score for the second round but were joined at the top by I-COM International Team 2 and both were now tied for 1st place.

Following an extended break after a fantastic buffet served by Karen and her team at the club it was time to announce the picture round winners.  Lex Business Equipment were victorious once again scoring a full 20/20 for the 4th year in a row!  A fantastic achievement by Sam and his team!

The quiz followed with a music round featuring a mix up of modern hits and classic tracks from artists such as Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Arctic Monkeys, The Animals, Thin Lizzy and Santana to name a few.  By the end of this round there was a new tussle for first place between I-COM International Team 2 and Handelsbanken Bolton with I-COM holding top place moving into the 4th and final round.

It was back to general knowledge questions for the 4th and final round.  Who would emerge victor for the 20th Annual Clough & Willis Quiz?  I-Com International Team 2 just about held onto their lead and were crowned champions with a score of 56, beating Handelsbanken Bolton by only two points on 54 and followed closely behind by Longden & Cook.

As always with our events we try to support local organisations and give back to the community where possible so whilst this was a free event for our colleagues, partners,  associates and friends to attend we were collecting donations to support Bury Cancer Support Centre.  It is with great pleasure  we can  announce that we managed to raise a whopping £550 for the centre which we know will go a long way to helping the centre and its patrons.

A huge thank you as well to all of the Clough & Willis staff who volunteered to help with the organisation on the night.

Roll on 2018 and our 21st edition!
